The Kremlin does not consider it necessary to take seriously the statements of the informant of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the ex-head of the Moscow Anti-Doping Laboratory Grigory Rodchenkov. This was reported to journalists by the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov, the correspondent of RBC reports.
Earlier in an interview with CBS News Rodchenkov said that he was afraid for his life, because in the Kremlin “they want him to stop talking”. People who stand cross-ways with Putin, “often die under mysterious circumstances, even in the US,” the WADA informant noted. To protect himself during the interview, Rodchenkov, as the TV channel specified later, even asked journalists to “disguise” his appearance.
“Such insinuations and statements of a person who even in the film looks like a person suffering from psychological and mental problems can hardly be taken seriously,” Peskov said, commenting on this. The accusations of Rodchenkov against Russia, the Kremlin official also added, are groundless, and the words regarding Putin are “nothing more than lies.”
Rodchenkov announced the possible role of Putin in the doping scandal
The press secretary of the Russian president is not the first time to call the words of the former head of the capital’s anti-doping laboratory “slander”. So Peskov earlier spoke about Rodchenkov’s allegations that during Putin’s Sochi Olympics in 2014 Putin knew about the “state doping program” in Russia.
Other statements Rodchenkov on the mass use of doping by Russian athletes became the basis for the report of the head of the independent commission WADA Richard McClaren. In December last year, including because of this document, the Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) disqualified the Russian Olympic Committee for the period of the Winter Games in South Korean Pyeongchang. And now at the international competitions in 2018 Russian athletes are not acting as representatives of their country, but as “Olympic athletes from Russia.”
Putin himself had previously spoken about the ex-head of the capital’s anti-doping laboratory as an “asshole.” In 2016, in relation to Rodchenkov in Russia, a criminal case was instituted on abuse of authority. In January 2018, the investigators reported the existence of information proving the unreliability of the former statements of the former head of Moscow’s anti-doping laboratory.
The male pursuit race at 12.5 km at the Olympics in Pyeongchang ended with the victory of French biathlete Martin Fourcade. The winner of the last six world cups in the overall standings on four shooting ranges allowed only one mistake.
Fourcade started eighth in 22.1 seconds from the winner of the German sprinter Arnd Peiffer. After the third shooting, he went to the sole leaders and did not miss his advantage, finishing with the French flag. In the struggle for second place, the 20-year-old Swede Sebastian Samuelsson outstripped Benedict Doll from Germany. Both missed once.
Family scandal ended in a police station in the city of Pushkin. The husband decided to put all the points over the “i” one time. The man drank too much, and after that he sent a double-barrel to his wife.
The woman managed to run out with the children to the street and asked her neighbors for help. Law enforcers went to the place of emergency.
– The police in the Pushkin district received a message that a man in the house along the Institute Street in Aleksandrovskaya village threatened to kill his wife, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region reports.
Guards of the order found a gun, a revolver and a grenade at the 35-year-old aggressor. Now the hooligan explains his actions in the police. After the experts have checked the weapon and confirmed its combat capability, a criminal case will be opened.
